Getting Started
How do I download Dugsiya?
Dugsiya is currently available in public beta through Apple's TestFlight program. First, download the TestFlight app from the iOS App Store. Then, visit testflight.apple.com/join/JrcsbNau on your iPhone or iPad to join the Dugsiya beta. The process takes just a few minutes, and you'll have immediate access to all features.
What devices does Dugsiya support?
Dugsiya is available for iPhone and iPad running iOS 15.0 or later. We've optimized the app for all screen sizes from iPhone SE to iPad Pro. An Android version is in development and will be released in 2025. We're also planning a web version for desktop browsers.
Is Dugsiya free?
The public beta is completely free with access to all features. This is a limited-time opportunity to experience Dugsiya at no cost while helping us improve the app with your feedback. After the beta period, we'll offer both free and premium subscription tiers. Beta testers will receive special lifetime discount pricing as a thank you for their early support.
Do I need internet connection to use Dugsiya?
While you need an internet connection for initial download and some features like syncing progress across devices, we're implementing offline mode that will allow you to practice and receive basic feedback without connectivity. This is perfect for travel, commutes, or areas with limited internet access.
What languages does Dugsiya support?
The app interface is currently available in English with Arabic Quran text. We're actively developing support for Urdu, French, Turkish, Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Malaysia, Bengali, and other major languages spoken by Muslim communities worldwide. The AI feedback works with Arabic recitation regardless of your interface language.
Learning & Features
I'm a complete beginner. Can I use Dugsiya?
Absolutely! Dugsiya is designed for learners at all levels. We offer introductory lessons on Arabic letter pronunciation, basic tajweed concepts, and start you with the shortest surahs. The AI provides patient, encouraging feedback perfect for beginners. Many users start with no prior Quran knowledge and progress successfully.
How accurate is the AI feedback?
Our AI has been trained on thousands of hours of expert Quran recitation and achieves over 95% accuracy in tajweed error detection. We continuously improve the model based on user feedback and consultation with Quran teachers. While no AI is perfect, our system is highly reliable for identifying common tajweed mistakes and providing helpful correction guidance.
Can children use Dugsiya?
Yes! Dugsiya is suitable for children ages 7 and up with parental supervision. The gamification elements are particularly engaging for younger learners. Parents can track their children's progress and set appropriate daily goals. We recommend parents work alongside younger children (under 10) to provide additional context and encouragement.
Does Dugsiya teach Quran meaning and tafsir?
Currently, Dugsiya focuses primarily on recitation and tajweed. We provide English translations for context, but comprehensive tafsir (exegesis) is not yet included. This is on our roadmap for future updates. We recommend supplementing Dugsiya practice with tafsir study from qualified scholars to gain deeper understanding of Quranic meanings.
What surahs are available?
Dugsiya includes the complete Quran—all 114 surahs. You start with shorter surahs from Juz Amma and progressively unlock longer ones as you demonstrate mastery. This structured approach ensures solid foundation building before tackling more complex recitations.
Can I practice specific verses or must I complete full surahs?
You have flexibility to practice individual verses, ayah ranges, or complete surahs. This allows focused work on difficult passages or memorization of specific sections for prayer. The AI provides feedback at any level of granularity you choose.
How does Dugsiya compare to learning with a human teacher?
Dugsiya complements but doesn't replace human teachers. The advantages of our app include 24/7 availability, unlimited practice repetitions, objective feedback, and accessibility for those without local access to teachers. However, human teachers provide nuanced understanding, spiritual guidance, accountability, and personalized teaching that AI cannot fully replicate. We recommend using Dugsiya alongside traditional instruction when possible.
What tajweed rules does Dugsiya cover?
Dugsiya covers all essential tajweed rules including: Noon Sakinah and Tanween rules (Idgham, Ikhfa, Iqlab, Izhar), Meem Sakinah rules, Qalqalah, Madd (prolongation) types, Ghunnah, letter characteristics (Sifaat), and articulation points (Makharij). Our AI recognizes when these rules are applied correctly and provides feedback when they're missed.
Technical & Account
How do I report a bug or request a feature?
As a TestFlight beta user, you can shake your device while using Dugsiya to bring up the feedback form, or email us directly at support@dugsiya.com. We read all feedback and prioritize improvements based on user input. Your suggestions directly shape the app's development.
Can I use Dugsiya on multiple devices?
Yes! Your progress syncs across all your iOS devices signed in with the same Apple ID. Start practicing on your iPhone during your commute and continue on your iPad at home seamlessly.
Is my progress saved if I uninstall the app?
Yes, your progress is saved to your account in the cloud. If you uninstall and reinstall Dugsiya, simply sign in again to restore all your data, achievements, and progress.
What if the AI gives incorrect feedback?
While our AI is highly accurate, it's not infallible. If you believe you've received incorrect feedback, you can report it through the app. This helps us continuously improve the model. We also recommend consulting with a human teacher for confirmation on borderline cases.
Will my beta progress carry over to the final release?
Yes! All progress, achievements, and data from the TestFlight beta will transfer to the final App Store release. You won't lose any of your hard work when we officially launch.
How is my data protected?
We take privacy seriously. All voice recordings are processed securely and encrypted. Your data is never shared with third parties for marketing. We comply with GDPR, CCPA, and COPPA regulations. You can delete your data at any time. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Pricing & Subscriptions
What will pricing be after beta?
We're finalizing our pricing structure but expect to offer a free tier with basic features and a premium subscription (likely $9.99/month or $79.99/year) with unlimited access, advanced analytics, and additional content. Beta testers will receive significant lifetime discounts—at least 50% off—as appreciation for early support.
Will there be family plans?
Yes! We're developing family subscription plans that allow multiple household members to access Dugsiya at a discounted rate. Parents will be able to manage children's accounts and monitor their progress from a parent dashboard.
Do you offer institutional licenses for Islamic schools?
We're actively developing educational licenses for madrasas, Islamic schools, and Quran learning centers. These will include teacher dashboards, student management tools, and bulk pricing. Contact us at education@dugsiya.com for early access information.
